A Norwegian based company has discovered a new test for early detection of Alzheimer's.
The name of the test is called APOE genetic testing.

According to George T. Grossberg, President IPA, the company behind the test, "there is need for a simple, accurate and convenient method that can detect Alzheimer's disease at an early stage,"

The cost of APOE genetic testing is approx. $150/test

How the Study was Conducted

Working in collaboration with the Ulleval University Hospital in Oslo, DiaGenic ASA researchers identified a common gene based on a panel of 33 genes that correctly predicted the diagnostic class of Alzheimer's in 34/37 samples.

Having validated their method, they now expect to be able to move quickly to the development of a blood based test to diagnose Alzheimer's disease."
