Drug Company's Miracle Drug Vioxx, Found to Have Killed 2000 Britons

2,000 British patients are now victims of the Vioxx tragedy and the families are demanding answers and compensation.

Lawyers for many of the relatives are considering filing claims in US courts and joining the potential multi- billion-dollar lawsuit against the pharmaceutical giant, Merck.

Wall Street has predicted that the worldwide damages could exceed 12 billion.

Angry family members of the dead victims claim there loved ones were not warned of the potentially fatal hazards.

The documents that have emerged suggest evidence of serious problems with Vioxx which were downplayed.

Most died of heart or gut complications after taking the drug.

About 60,000 people worldwide are estimated to have died from the drug.

Dr. Grisanti's Comments:

I am saddened by this tragedy. What a shame! Many people place 100% trust in their physicians and for this to happen is beyond comprehensive. I am confident most physicians were not privy of Vioxx hidden dangers. However, I question the moral character of the drug company who places profit above human life.
